The two sides have not reached an agreement and will likely resume negotiations in 2026, according to reports from MARCA and AS.

Contract negotiations between Real Madrid and Vinicius Jr. have reportedly hit a standstill, according to Spanish outlets AS and MARCA. The Brazilian forward, whose current deal runs until the summer of 2027, has yet to reach an agreement on an extension with the club. Talks initially began in February but have since cooled, with no significant progress expected until at least 2026, per those same reports.

The primary sticking point appears to be financial. Vinicius and his representatives are said to have requested a €5 million/year raise, a figure Real Madrid are not currently willing to meet. Club officials have expressed concern about the player’s recent performances and are hesitant to commit to a substantial raise unless there is a marked improvement in form, club sources told Managing Madrid.

Despite the impasse, Vinicius remains a key figure in Madrid’s long-term plans. However, the delay in securing his future has not gone unnoticed. The winger’s camp has begun receiving lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia, adding a new layer of intrigue to an already complex situation.
