Real Madrid’s Thiago Pitarch is close to renewing his contract with the club, according to a report from ESPN.
Pitarch has impressed first team coach Xabi Alonso during the pre-season so far, and is set to travel with the first team to Austria for their friendly against WSG Tirol on Tuesday.
The midfielder has impressed Alonso with his pressing, dynamism in midfield and his creativity with the ball, and is now close to renewing with Real Madrid for another contract.
It is a big month for the 18-year-old midfielder, who impressed Arbeloa while playing two friendlies with Castilla in the last two weeks.
Alonso then asked him to train with the first team.
He also played in their closed-doors match against Leganes which saw him miss the third friendly with Castilla — a 3-1 loss to Segunda side Andorra.
It remains to be seen whether the midfielder gets minutes against WSG Tirol, but given how much he has impressed everyone so far, there is a big chance that happens.
