The Belgium manager said.
Belgium National Team’s new coach Rudi Garcia praised Thibaut Courtois’ mentality and said he needs winners like him.
Garcia was appointed as the new Belgium coach after Domenico Tedesco was sacked earlier this year after poor results and rifts with players.
The player in question was Real Madrid’s number one, Courtois, who, because of the disagreements with the former coach, chose not to play for Belgium. He returned to the national team after Tedesco’s departure.
Speaking on Courtois, Garcia said: “Thibaut Courtois loves to win. I need winners. Sometimes he might speak a lot about what he thinks, but it is better to have someone who says what they think.”
Courtois has been one of Real Madrid’s very best players in the last four to five years, and somehow it still is not talked about enough. He has been exceptional for the club, and his national team would have surely missed his service when he was not playing.
Courtois will likely feature in the upcoming international games, which will take place just before the Club World Cup.
