Referee named for FIFA Club World Cup Semifinals between Real Madrid and PSG

FIFA have appointed Polish referee Szymon Marciniak as the man in charge of Wednesday’s match between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup Semifinals, which will be played in New Jersey (21:00 CEST, 03:00pm EST).

Marciniak is the most experienced referee in European football and he’s been in charge of many crucial games. He was the official in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and he also refereed Real Madrid’s 1-0 win against Juventus in this current Club World Cup and the team’s victory over Atletico de Madrid in the return leg of the Champions League’s Round of 16. Real Madrid have a 6-2-3 record with the Polish referee in charge.

Marciniak will have his hands full in this game, as both teams will surely play with intensity and physicality given that they will be playing for a spot in the Final.
