According to MARCA.
Real Madrid are interested in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams and would be seriously considering paying the €58 million release clause on his contract with the Basque club, according to a report from MARCA.
Williams will turn 23 years old this summer and had a breakout season during the 2023-24 campaign. However, he struggled with injuries this year and couldn’t reach the same heights. Still, Real Madrid see him as a market opportunity, per that same report.
Williams has mostly played as a left-winger for Athletic Bilbao, but he has also played some minutes on the right flank during his career. Either way, if Real Madrid decide to sign him this summer that would likely mean that one of their attackers would leave the club, with Rodrygo possibly being the main candidate.
MARCA also added that Real Madrid would be interested in signing Williams ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.
