According to The Athletic.
Real Madrid have opened talks with academy starlet Jesus Fortea to renew his contract, according to a report from Mario Cortegana of The Athletic.
Fortea has been playing for Juvenil A under new Castilla coach Alvaro Arbeloa, and has also featured for Real Madrid’s C team in recent weeks and months.
Real Madrid’s decision to get Arbeloa in as the Castilla head coach, combined with the new first team manager Xabi Alonso’s request to get him to travel to the USA for the Club World Cup, has made the difference for the player.
Fortea’s current contract is set to expire in 2026, and it was highly likely that a move could take place for the Spanish youngster following snubs from Carlo Ancelotti and Raul.
The new talks have been positive, though, and it would be good for Real Madrid to extend Fortea’s contract, as he is one of the most sought-after academy players in Spanish football.
