Preview
Real Madrid face DUX Logroño on the first matchday of Liga F. Las Blancas travel to Logroño to start off the new 2025/2026 season.
The two teams have previously faced off in the 2020/2021 season when the white club came victorious both times—winning 2-0 at home and 0-4 at Estadio Municipal de Las Gaunas where they will reunite this weekend.
Las Blancas start off the new season with 5 new summer transfers—Sara Däbritz, Merle Frohms, Bella Andersson, Sara Holmgaard, Hanna Bennison, and one academy promotion—Paula Comendador. Another important change is the change of manager. Pau Quesada is the new coach of Real Madrid Femenino after the sacking of Alberto Toril at the end of 2024/2025 season.
“We’re learning a lot of what [the new staff] expect from us and how we want to approach the season. It’s been a lot of information, but I think the team has responded well. We’re looking forward to moving forward,” Caroline Weir speaks for Real Madrid TV. “We really want to win. We want to compete in every single competition we play in. Last year, I believe that we did get closer and there were moments where it was obvious progress and we’re moving forward as a group. But this year, of course, we want our first title. We’ve been speaking about it.”
Kickoff is on Sunday, August 31st at 20:00 CEST on Estadio Municipal de Las Gaunas. Broadcast will be available on DAZN.
