Managing Madrid’s player ratings after a disappointing draw at Hard Rock Stadium.

Thibaut Courtois — 6: Made a big save early on and can’t be at fault for conceding a penalty. His distribution needs to be better.

Trent Alexander-Arnold — 6: Out of place defensive and and his on-ball play wasn’t up to his elite standard. Underwhelming debut but he did kickstart the play which led to Gonzalo Garcia’s goal.

Raul Asencio — 4.5: Two vital challenges early on but his rash and chaotic defending cost Real Madrid as he gave up an unnecessary penalty.

Dean Huijsen — 7.5: Strong ball-playing, good ball-carrying, and good defensive coverage. Solid debut.

Fran Garcia — 6.5: Struggled with some of his passes but made good off-ball runs to support Vinicius.

Fede Valverde — 7: Didn’t exert much influence on the game but had very timely challenges and brought some good energy in the second half. His penalty attempt was poor.

Aurelien Tchouameni — 8: One of Real Madrid’s best players. Played well in the second half as well when he had to shift to center-back. He will be a vital piece for Xabi Alonso.

Jude Bellingham — 7: Solid dribbling and great ball-winning as usual. But didn’t have the same impact you

Rodrygo — 7: Quiet overall, but did provide a beautiful assist to Gonzalo Garcia.

Vinicius Jr — 4: Poor decision-making, poor passing, poor dribbling, and overall little impact. He needs to regain his form.

Gonzalo Garcia — 8.5: Rewarded Xabi Alonso’s faith in him but providing some excellent hold-up and link-up play. He’s a strong target. His goal wasn’t the cleanest, but he also deserved it given how hard he worked to make that sequence happen.

Subs

Victor Muñoz, NA: 10 minute cameo. He tried his best to get past his man on the wing using his explosiveness and first touch.

Arda Güler, 8: His verticality and decisiveness helped Real Madrid gain more control in the second half.

Lucas Vazquez, 7: Didn’t do anything wrong. Came in and helped bring some fresh legs to the wing.

Brahim Diaz, 7.5: Excellent dribbling on the right wing which helped unlocked chances for this teammates.
