Curiosity for the Future

Look, if Fab says there’s hope… there’s hope. Xabi is the chosen one for a huge portion of the fanbase and it’s a scenario that would get even me to be fairly optimistic. Not too many other candidates that make sense in my book. That’s in spite of the Klopp reports, which… I frankly can’t see having much merit; I mean, the man’s got his job for just about a year.

It really does feel like the end of a (coaching) cycle, doesn’t it? Then again, coach aside, the rest of the preparations have to be on point too (i.e. signings).

But, Getting our Heads Back in the Game…

We face Barcelona in the CDR in 5 days. There will be no change of manager or personal, nor will there be a preseason taking place. Barcelona have handed us our …erm… defense line to us twice this season, both times equally humiliating. It is fair if you are pessimistic.

And yet, it’s a final. Plenty can happen and Real Madrid usually do ok in finals… Considering La Liga is pretty close to done, barring a miraculous Barcelona meltdown, the CDR final is our main chance to get a trophy this season.

It’s good to remember that Barca also have a tough schedule during this period:
