OFFICIAL: Real Madrid sign Alvaro Carreras

Real Madrid have announced the signing of Spanish left-back Alvaro Carreras. Carreras is 22 years old and just had a breakout season with Benfica, so Los Blancos decided to sign him in order to improve their depth at the left-back spot.

Real Madrid C.F. and Sport Lisboa e Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Álvaro Carreras, who will be linked to our club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2031.

Álvaro Carreras was trained in the Real Madrid youth academy, where he played between 2017 and 2020 in the cadet and youth categories.

He joined Benfica from Manchester United, after being named the English club’s Under-23 Player of the Season in 2021-22. With Benfica, he won the Portuguese League Cup this year.

Álvaro Carreras’ presentation will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1:00 p.m., at Ciudad Real Madrid.

Prior to the presentation, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez will welcome Carreras for the official signing ceremony that links our new player to the club for the next six seasons.

After the presentation, Carreras will speak to the media in the press room at Ciudad Real Madrid.
