Getafe will have an option to buy the player.
Real Madrid have announced that midfielder Mario Martin has signed a loan deal with Getafe, one which will keep him with the club until the summer of 2026. Getafe will have an option to buy Martin next summer.
Martin spent the 2024-25 season playing for Valladolid, where he started 20 games for them. Now, he will join Jose Bordalas’ team hoping to have a similar role as a crucial player.
If Getafe decide to trigger their option to buy Martin next summer, it’s likely that Real Madrid will then have their own option to bring him back, as it’s often the case when Los Blancos sell their young players. This is a formula that’s worked for the club in the past, with players like Fran Garcia or Brahim Diaz making their return to Real Madrid after spending a few seasons with Rayo Vallecano and AC Milan respectively.
Martin’s path to return to Real Madrid won’t be an easy one, though, as Los Blancos seem ready to buy Nico Paz back from Como next summer.
