OFFICIAL: Gonzalo García signs Real Madrid contract extension

Real Madrid have announced a contract extension for Gonzalo García, whose new deal with the club will expire in the summer of 2030. Gonzalo is now officially a first-team player and will end up wearing number 16 after Endrick requested and got number 9 due to seniority in the first team.

Here’s Real Madrid’s official announcement.

Real Madrid C.F. and Gonzalo García have agreed to extend our player’s contract, which will keep him at the club for the next five seasons, until June 30, 2030.

Gonzalo García joined Real Madrid in 2014 at just 10 years old and has been part of our youth system for ten seasons, playing the last two with Castilla. He made his debut with the first team in November 2023, participating in the La Liga title won that season. He was the tournament’s top scorer at the last Club World Cup and was included in FIFA’s Best XI.

Last season, Gonzalo scored 25 goals for Castilla, becoming the top scorer in the Primera Federación since its creation. With that tally, he equaled Castilla’s best record in the regular season as top scorer in the 21st century. He also won the treble with the U19s in the 2022-2023 season (La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Copa de Campeones) and the Copa del Rey in 2021-2022.

Gonzalo will now be part of Real Madrid’s first team.
