LaLiga has filed its weekly report on violent incidents and offensive chants from the most recent matchday, with the Madrid derby at the Metropolitano coming under particular scrutiny.
The governing body noted multiple cases of inappropriate behavior from both sets of fans. According to LaLiga’s statement released on Wednesday, Atlético Madrid supporters directed offensive chants toward Real Madrid and its fans on several occasions. On the other side, sections of the traveling Real Madrid support targeted Atlético manager Diego Simeone with repeated insults.
The report also included mention of a small object being thrown from the stands by home fans—though it did not strike anyone—as well as five separate instances in which Madrid fans hurled insults toward Atlético supporters, the club, and Simeone himself.
LaLiga compiles these reports through its LALIGAVS platform, which allows fans inside stadiums to submit information and complaints aimed at curbing violence and abusive behavior in Spanish football.
