Paris Saint-Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia spoke to the media on Tuesday ahead of his team’s blockbuster Club World Cup semifinal clash with Real Madrid in New York.
In his remarks, Kvaratskhelia singled out Real Madrid’s superstar as a difference-maker but also emphasized the team’s new structure under Xabi Alonso.
“Mbappé is one of the best players right now,” he said. “And Real Madrid is a better team with him.”
“We respect everyone on Real Madrid because they’re a good team,” Kvaratskhelia continued. “They have great individual players, but I think they’re a better team than other teams that only have individual players. But the most important thing is the team’s structure. So we respect them and we’ll fight against everyone.”
For Kvaratskhelia, who has quickly become one of PSG’s most creative outlets, the task is clear: “We’ll fight against all their players.”
Kickoff is set for Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium, with a place in Sunday’s final — against either Chelsea or Fluminense — on the line.
