Huijsen leaves Spain’s training camp with muscle injury

Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen has suffered a muscle injury during Spain’s training camp and he will be replaced by Athletic Bilbao’s Aymeric Laporte.

The initial medical reports indicate that Huijsen suffers muscle fatigue, which would mean that he would not need to miss much time and could be ready for El Clásico against FC Barcelona on October 26th. However, the player will get more tests on his injury once he arrives at Valdebebas ans is examined by team doctors.

Either way, it looks like Real Madrid’s coaching staff will need to monitor Huijsen very closely in order to make sure that he’s fresh and 100% ready to face Barcelona. Knowing how crucial of a player he is, it would not be shocking to see him miss the away match against Getafe, which is the first game immediately after this current FIFA break.
