Antalyaspor manager Emre Belozoglu spoke to AS about how Real Madrid fans will see a different and accomplished version of Arda Guler under new manager Xabi Alonso.
Guler had a decent end to Carlo Ancelotti’s tenure, starting every other match towards the final leg of the season.
However, two seasons under the Italian did not give Guler a lot of changes in the starting XI, and Belozoglu believes it will be different with Alonso.
He said: “With Xabi Alonso, we will see a very different and more accomplished Arda Guler. He will improve.”
He was asked about Guler’s character and why he did not leave Real Madrid on loan, and he gave a great answer.
Belozoglu said: “I know his character. He thrives on difficulties and on overcoming them. He likes to surf the toughest waves.”
“There aren’t many players with the gift and divine talent of Arda Guler.”
It remains to be seen what Alonso does with Guler, who has now joined team training with the rest of the squad in the United States, just a few days before their first Club World Cup match against Al-Hilal on Wednesday.
