Managing Madrid have been on the ground all month covering Real Madrid’s Club World Cup run, which, unfortunately, came to end in the semi-finals against PSG in New York.
One of the big talking points was how Real Madrid threw out all their previous good performances by losing their pressing hunger and defensive shape — and it coincided with Kylian Mbappe’s return which ‘forced’ Xabi Alonso to play three up front.
While no one (apart from Thibaut Courtois) played well for Real Madrid, it was concering to see Vinicius’s form.
