Tensions are boiling over in Seville just hours before the Copa del Rey final — and sadly, the ugliness has spilled into the streets. Footage has emerged showing a group of Barcelona fans chanting “Vinicius, die!” as they gathered in the Andalusian capital.
The disturbing moment was captured by reporters from Cadena Ser, who witnessed firsthand the hateful chants directed at Real Madrid’s Brazilian star.
While tensions between Real Madrid and Barcelona are already high in a clash like this, attacks of this nature cross a line. Wishing death upon a player, no matter the rivalry, reflects a disturbing side of fan behavior that authorities, clubs, and football institutions must urgently address.
Vinicius Jr., often a target of abusive behavior in Spanish stadiums, has unfortunately become a lightning rod once again — this time not even inside the stadium walls (far too often the case with the abuse he received), but out in the streets of Seville.
