Stuck in the bargaining stage
The Daily Merengue is a place where you can feel free to d all things football. Do not be alarmed by the overt RMCF bias. It’s in the name! Shoutout to the mods who do a fantastic job, Valyrian Steel, Felipejack, Juninho, NeRObutBlanco and yours truly, Kung_Fu_Zizou

Xabier Alonso is increasingly likely to take over the team before the start of the Club World Cup.
Real Madrid prefer a PERMANENT manager for the Club World Cup.

Silly Season
Real Madrid’s plan to sign Álvaro Carreras,
Avoid paying €60M release clause to Benfica, convince Man United to activate their €18M buy-back clause, then buy him from United for €30M–€35M. @diarioas pic.twitter.com/0ChJjAsYSr

Where there’s smoke there is fire. This reads like an April fools jokes thst arrived a month too late. Real Madrid seem desperate to convince everyone that they cannot spend money to improve the squad. The Leny Yoro debacle was rather embarrassing and this summer silly season is not off to a good start right now.
What’s more disturbing is why Real Madrid are not getting ahead of the narrative and suggesting they will lean on their world class academy for resources to replenish the first team squad.

Joan Martinez is the most highly rated CB in the academy and all eyes will be on his return particularly to see if he will be joining the first team for preseason as was the case last summer.
Yusi and Jacobo To See Some First Team Action
While Jacobo has already played first team football, this will likely be his best chance to show what he can do. A couple of ill-timed own goals for Castilla will have tested his confidence as much as his Copa del Rey appearance earlier in the season. He will need to be calm and composed and show what he can do.
Youssef Enriquez ‘Yusi’ (17) is a left-back with a fairly complete profile. He has been considered one of La Fábrica’s most promising full-backs for several years and continues to improve season after season. Youssi is a highly-rated Left-back who looks set for a big future in the game. It is rather surprising he’s not been given first team minutes in light of the awful state of the squad for most of the season. Hopefully he knocks it out of the park and reminds everyone of the quality that exists in La Fabrica.
