Huijsen completed a brilliant performance in the center of Spain’s defensive line.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente praised new Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen after Spain’s 5-4 win against France in the Semifinals of the UEFA Nations League. Even though Spain conceded four goals, Huijsen led the defensive line all game long and showed his ability to distribute the ball from the back.
“He is the kind of player who has a maturity beyond his age. For us, he wasn’t a discovery because we already knew what he could do. He got his chance and we know his potential, and that’s why he was signed by Real Madrid. It shows that it’s hard to get playing time on this team because the level is extraordinary,” said De la Fuente.
Huijsen appears ready to lead Real Madrid’s defensive line in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where he will be making his debut as a madridista shortly.
