Recently on the Managing Madrid Podcast, chief editor and podcast host Kiyan Sobhani reacted to football videos that were sent to him. One video in particular was David Beckham on CBS Sports Golazo, recounting the story of how initially Manchester United had sold him to Barcelona instead of Real Madrid.
Beckham explained that he urged Manchester United to sell him to Real Madrid instead, and hijacked the deal himself. The rest is history.
However, Beckham going to Barcelona instead of a Real Madrid sets off one of the biggest ‘what ifs’ in football history.
