This is according to a report from MARCA, which claims that Asencio has been suffering from overload ever since he was substituted against Mallorca on the weekend.
The reporter finds it very likely that the defender will be left out of the squad for the match against Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.
Asencio has been Real Madrid’s most reliable centre-back, as he is one of the only few players who, up to this point, had not been injured.
Asencio is not on that list anymore, and it remains to be seen whether the Spaniard will return in time for the clash against Sevilla.
It is not a hugely important match, so it will not be surprising if Carlo Ancelotti gives him a rest and starts Aurelien Tchouameni, who returns from suspension, alongside Jacobo Ramon, instead.
