Three of Real Madrid’s four signings this summer occupied the top three spots on La Liga’s list of most expensive transfers of this transfer window, according to DAZN Spain.
Dean Huijsen was the most expensive player that Real Madrid, or any other club in the league, bought this summer, coming in at €62.5 million.
Alvaro Carreras and Franco Mastantuono completed the top three with €50 million and €45 million in transfer fees, respectively.
The first non-Real Madrid player to feature on the list was Alex Baena — one of three Atletico Madrid players — at €42 million. Barcelona had just the one player there in Joan Garcia, who cost them €25 million.
As a whole, La Liga teams have not been able to splurge a huge amount of money in the transfer market, while a number of Premier League teams spend much more than even big teams like Real Madrid, in some cases.
La Liga’s total spending this season was the fourth most in Europe, at €683 million — miles off Premier League’s gigantic total of €3.57 billion, per Transfermarkt.
