Speaking on The Boardroom today, Gareth Bale offered a glimpse into how he looks back on two of the defining aspects of his career: his unforgettable 2018 Champions League final and his favorite stage to perform on.
When asked how often fans bring up his stunning overhead kick against Liverpool, Bale admitted it’s a near-daily occurrence:
“Probably daily, to be honest. I think it is good. It means you’ve done something great in your profession and I can’t say I’m tired of it, but also sometimes you wish, obviously you could walk around and nobody knows who you are, but again, I think you have to take the positives from it and people remembering what you did and I guess the greatness that you did.”
Bale also revealed his favorite city to play in—his hometown of Cardiff—highlighting a particularly special moment when he represented both club and country there:
“My home city, to be honest, in Cardiff…I actually was lucky enough to play for Real Madrid in Cardiff, so to be able to experience that with my club team and my national team was pretty cool. And having all of your family there in your home city to win a trophy as well – was an amazing experience.”
