Real Madrid beat Leganés 4-1 in preseason friendly

Real Madrid came back against Leganés in Friday’s preseason friendly played behind closed doors at Valdebebas. While Leganés scored the first goal of the game, Xabi Alonso’s team completed the comeback and earned a 4-1 win with goals from Militao, Brahim, Huijsen and Pitarch.

Coach Xabi Alonso deployed a very strong starting XI. Courtois, Carvajal, Asencio, Huijsen, Carreras, Valverde, Ceballos, Brahim, Vinicius, Mbappe and Gonzalo featured in Alonso’s lineup, with Brahim taking the Jude Bellingham role while the English star recovers from shoulder surgery. Other regulars for Madrid also played some minutes, like Tchouameni, Alexander-Arnold, Rüdiger or Eduardo Camavinga. Mendy and Endrick did not participate in the match as they’re also recovering from their own injuries.

Real Madrid will have a day off this Saturday before making their return to Valdebebas on Sunday. They will face Tirol in Austria on Tuesday —19:00 CEST— in what will be the team’s only official friendly of the preseason.
