Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr spoke to GQ Spain recently, and talked about a lot of things around the club. He spoke about his dreams as a football player, which seem to be far from over. He said: “I have already achieved a lot, but my dreams are far from over. I want to win more trophies with my club, win the most important titles with Brazil, and continue to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves.”
Vinicius Jr’s biggest dream
“My biggest dream is to leave a legacy that goes beyond football, especially with all the work I am doing through my foundation to improve the educational system in Brazil.”
Vinicius Jr on being a role model
“I take the responsibility of being a role model very seriously. Being a role model is about setting the right example. I try to stay focused, be humble and remember where I come from. I want to show that with hard work and respect, everything is possible.”
Vinicius Jr on his parents
“My parents are my greatest inspiration. They worked very hard to give me the opportunities I have today. Their dedication, love and sacrifice are what drives me to move forward every day. Everything I do is to make them feel proud.”
Vinicius Jr’s biggest inspirations
“Cristiano Ronaldo has inspired me with his incredible work and dedication; he never stops striving to be the best. LeBron James, for the same reasons, but also for what he has done for his community, demonstrating that greatness goes beyond performance. And of course, Brazilian legends like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Neymar, who represent a lot for the Brazilian people and for Brazilian football. They’ve shown the world the talent and joy we bring to the game.”
Vinicius Jr on his biggest moments as a footballer
“There have been many decisive moments in my career. My professional debut with Flamengo, the transfer to Real Madrid and some unforgettable memories in the most important competitions, like scoring in two UCL finals. Each of them shaped who I am as a player and as a person.”
Vinicius Jr on inspiring others
“I know that my path inspires others, especially the children who come from where I came from. Knowing that my story can motivate someone to pursue their own dreams means everything to me. Representing my team, my country and my family on the biggest stages is something I’ll never take for granted.”
Vinicius Jr on success
“Celebrating success is very important. Success is never achieved alone. In football, we all motivate each other to improve, and celebrating the achievements of others helps to build a positive and supportive environment. It’s about respect and recognising the effort that everyone puts in, even if they are in a different team or in another industry.”
