His number is not official yet.
Raúl Asencio is officially a first-team player for Real Madrid. Los Blancos registered the defender and Asencio now appears alongside his teammates in the official website, although a decision about the number he will wear has not been made just yet.
Asencio spent the 2024-25 season as a Castilla player wearing number 35 for the first team, even though he actually became a key defender for the team due to injuries to players like Militao and Alaba.
Asencio will be trying to bounce back from his disappointing performances in the recent FIFA Club World Cup. He will likely be behind both Dean Huijsen and Antonio Rudiger in the rotation, although Militao could be competing for minutes as a starter if he can recover his best form following the two ACL injuries he’s suffered over the last few years. All things considered, Asencio will likely be a rotation player for Real Madrid this season.
