Real Madrid are eager to part ways with defenders David Alaba and Ferland Mendy this summer, but the club has yet to receive any concrete offers or even informal interest for either player, club sources told Managing Madrid.
Despite being put on the transfer list, both players appear likely to remain with the team heading into the new season. Alaba, whose contract runs until the summer of 2026, has resisted the club’s attempts to negotiate an early exit. Madrid had explored the possibility of a buyout to allow the Austrian to leave as a free agent, but Alaba has made it clear he intends to see out his current deal.
Mendy’s case is more complicated. With a contract running through 2027, his declining form and limited role under head coach Xabi Alonso—who is expected to rely on Álvaro Carreras and Fran García as his primary left-backs—have left the Frenchman with little space in the squad. Despite Madrid’s desire to sell him, Mendy has not received meaningful interest from other clubs, making a transfer increasingly unlikely.
