He spoke to AS.

Former Real Madrid player Jesus Vallejo spoke to AS in a recent interview. He highlighted the significance of Dani Carvajal in his Real Madrid career, and only spoke good things about the current captain’s leadership. He said: “Carvajal. From the moment I arrived until the very last day, he’s been an ideal teammate, very positive and contributing in every way. He’s a natural leader and an ideal captain. The Madrid armband couldn’t be in better hands.”

Vallejo on Rodrygo

“Rodrygo. In small-sided training sessions, he displayed tremendous talent. He fascinated me. (More than Vinicius and Mbappé) Yes. He’s really good and has impressive footballing qualities.”

Vallejo on not playing much

“My time at Real Madrid was a learning experience. I tried to give my best, but the competition was the most brutal you could have on a football team. I would have liked to play more, but the level of the squad was tremendous.”

Vallejo on Luka Modric

“He’s an example for everyone. Antonio Pintus used to say he couldn’t believe it when he saw Luka train and compete, his physical ability and the parameters he offered. He said his physiology was something out of the ordinary. He always arrived first at Valdebebas. He’s taken great care of his physique, and it’s no coincidence that he’s reached this age.”

Vallejo on Carlo Ancelotti

“His position has always been one of maximum pressure and responsibility. He said his mission wasn’t to distribute minutes but to win games. That was his philosophy. He didn’t count on me much, and although I wanted to play more, I’ve always respected him.”
