The defender shared some words after the elimination against PSG.
Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio posted an apology to the fans on his Social Media following the team’s 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup. It has been a very rough tournament for Asencio, who will have to regroup and work hard if he wants to keep competing for relevant minutes when the 2025-26 season kicks off in August.
“Madridistas, a season comes to an end in which I have fulfilled the dream of being part of the best club in the world, but it ended in the way I least wanted. I feel that I was not up to the task in a Club World Cup that demanded the maximum, but now it’s time to disconnect and recharge. I wish you all a happy holiday and now and always, HALA MADRID! Counting the days to return to the @bernabeu,” he wrote.
Asencio emerged as a key player for Real Madrid during the second half of the season, but his recent performances for the team have been a concern and the club could be monitoring the market in search of another center-back, according to reports.
