He spoke following the win over Getafe
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke after the 1-0 win over Getafe, reflecting on the performance by saying, “we have put emphasis on being more solid at the back… but we lack a bit of effectiveness up top. In the first half we were good in this sense, although we lost effectiveness in the second half”.

“When we played in a 4-4-2 formation, he could only have played as a right winger, because that’s the only position he can occupy if we play in a 4-4-2 formation. There, we couldn’t put him in as a pivot. But in a 4-3-3, he can do very well as an inside player, because he works hard. He lacks a bit of forcefulness in the duels, but he has a lot of quality. Not only for his goals, but also for his game management. His future lies more there than further up. To imagine him as a pivot, nowadays, may be crazy; but in the future… he can also play in that position. But in a 4-3-3, not 4-4-2. Because the quality he has in construction is phenomenal.”

“As I said, it could be a 4-4-2… with six midfielders and no strikers (smiles). We’ll have to defend well, because it’s a final. But we will do it. And we’ll have our chances up top.”
